In hindsight, I have come to realize that it was just a bunch of stupid ideas that my naive and impressionable imagination had taken far too seriously. I blame the media mostly, although to be fair I should have just listened to that part of me that was telling me that I was getting the wrong idea. I still have racist and sexist thoughts, on a daily basis, however, that part of me that knows better is becoming stronger and more vocal. It's not Muslims, Asians, Women, Africans, Eastern Europeans etc that I should be angry with. It's not at all fair of me to be angry with these people for coming to my home country and/or working hard to make it a nicer place for them to live in. It's the government of this country that I should be angry at for allowing the rights, wishes, hopes and dreams of these people to come before my as a rights, wishes, hopes and dreams as a White Man. Unfortunately, that's just what opportunistic politicians will do for any group under the facade of actually giving a shit. Equality, both in theory and in practice, couldn't be any simpler. That's exactly how things should be in all cases, equal opportunity for all, literally ALL, no buts, ALL. Ultimately, this is something that we should all be advocates of as well, because we would all like an equal chance at everything and if it's good enough for one then it's good enough for all. I've met so many dickheads throughout my life, White ones, Black ones, Arab ones, South and East Asian ones. Most of the people I've met have been dickheads, self serving, inconsiderate, narrow minded, reckless DICKHEADS. This is a big part of why I have finally realized that discrimination of all kinds, from racially selective slavery, to so called 'equality monitoring' on job applications and what not, is all a massive bunch of bullshit. What makes you a good or bad person is YOU and what you're like as a person, nothing else matters and it never should. We humans really aren't as great as we like to think we are half of the time, I think that discrimination is just a natural instinct of ours, I think it's something that we do so that we don't have to judge everybody on their individual merit, a time saver. It makes us feel more secure about the world around us. Don't go down that road because lots of black people live there, you might get attacked, take a detour so you will live to see tomorrow. Don't buy anything from that shop, it's run by Asian people, you could save more money if you did your shopping elsewhere. These are just examples of thoughts similar to those I've had in the past and unfortunately still have from time to time. It should be obvious to everybody why these kind of thoughts are completely irrational. Hopefully, as humanity continues to evolve, be it physically or spiritually, we will be able to leave our instinct to discriminate against other people behind. I am quite optimistic that this will happen, in many ways thanks to the internet, which has given so many of us the chance to see things for what they really are. It's indeed a shame that in many cases it's also the internet that has counteracted the chance for people to see things for precisely what they are, but I suppose that's just part and parcel with the freedom of expression. It should be the priority of every human to try and overcome our natural instincts and urges when they're clearly not doing us any good. Almost every day it's my natural instinct to never get out of bed, not bother going to work, eat like a pig, drink like a fish and smoke lime a chimney. I know though that if I gave into that instinct, I would just end up being a pathetic excuse of a human worthy of the slow, painful and untimely death that I would receive before too long. The movie isn't limited by differences in race alone touching on relations between male/female, young/old, poor/wealthy and so on. The movie is both funny and slightly somber at times forcing the viewer to ask themselves "is there a clear cut right and wrong in this movie. did Mookie do the right thing. Who should pay the price for the injustices committed by conglomerate perpetrator? At the end is there no one to blame or every one to blame. I've seen it several times and I'm still wondering.

This film was a great way to show society how racism can destroy friendships and relationships. The film doesn't however, show you what is the right thing to do. It makes you decide what the right thing is to do. Because throughout the movie, every race is racist towards one another.
This film has it all, violence, humor, and of course race differences. It's a 2 sided film, sometimes you get angry at one race and feel sorry for another race. But all in all this movie was a good one to learn from. It makes you think about times that you could have been racist towards others. I recommend this movie to everyone. It's never too late to respect others for who they are not what color or race they are.
